A group of 12 students from SCMS went on an amazing fishing incentive trip! 🎣
These students earned raffle tickets by completing all their schoolwork, attending all classes, and did not earn a discipline referral during the entire month of May. And because of their hard work, they were randomly chosen for this fantastic adventure. 🌟👍💯
During the trip, the students had fun learning about fishing gear, fish habitat, and even how to harvest, clean, and cook their catch. It was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved! #ShawanoProud
Check out the amazing end-of-year project by the 8th graders in Math I! 👀⬇️
They designed and played board games based on the topics they studied throughout the year, such as Exponent Rules, Pythagorean Theorem, Slope, Systems of Equations, and Sequences.
The creativity and enthusiasm of the students were off the charts, and they had a blast testing their knowledge before summer break! 📈🧠💥 #ShawanoProud
The Glossy Treats, a 7th-grade SCMS Destination Imagination team, competed at the Global Finals in Kansas City. Students were able to watch teams from China, Poland, and Mexico. What an amazing experience! 🫶🌟
Thank you to the Shawano School District and so many local businesses and individuals for the support. During this season, they raised money and helped fix a fence at the Humane Society, and prepared and presented a skit about their project at Regionals, State, and Global Finals.
It was truly an unforgettable experience! ❤️ #ShawanoProud
Congrats to Bryce Marohl for shooting a straight 25 on the last night of the League! Let's give a round of applause to Bryce for this achievement! 👏 #ShawanoProud
SCHS engineering students built mini trebuchets and bigger trebuchets to test their skills at launching projectiles accurately and consistently!
They used a variety of objects including softballs, tennis balls, baseballs, apples, watermelon, pineapples, grapefruit, coconuts, and mangos.
The students had a blast problem-solving and troubleshooting their trebuchets to see them launch! #ShawanoProud
SCHS engineering students had the amazing opportunity to build and fly tetrahedron kites. They took advantage of a perfect windy day to launch the kites up into the sky! 🌬️🪁
These kites are made of simple materials like straws, string, and tissue paper, yet they are stable and easy to fly when the wind is just right. It's incredible to think that these kites can vary in size, allowing for the creation of both simple and larger models by adding cells together.
A fascinating historical note: Alexander Graham Bell invented this type of kite in 1895 and even created a massive 3,393 cell model that carried a man 168 feet above water in 1907!

There were multiple volunteers who brought a total of 13 career-related vehicles. A huge THANK YOU to all of the volunteers! The students had a great time learning about all the different jobs that the vehicles are used for! 👍 #ShawanoProud
Tanner Thiel from the Shawano Trap Team shot a straight 25! Let's give a round of applause to Tanner for this achievement! 👏 #ShawanoProud

Mrs. Beyersdorf and Mrs. Keup, School Counselors at Hillcrest/LEADS, recently coordinated field trips for all Kindergarten and 1st Grade students. These field trips were follow-up activities from Life Skills lessons about Career Exploration.
Kindergarten students visited the Shawano County Library; they learned about the variety of careers within the library system and they received information about the summer reading program. As a bonus, Kindergarten students also toured the Police Department. School Resource Officer, Officer Tyler Thornborrow, provided a tour, shared a variety of careers such as detective, investigator, K9 officer, etc.., and taught the students about public safety.
First Grade students visited the Shawano County Highway Department. They toured the large facility and learned about a variety of different careers. They learned about many different trucks, along with other equipment that is used on the roads. Students were also excited to see the large salt sheds and to stand on the big scale that's used to weigh the trucks.
What an awesome experience for all! #ShawanoProud

Shout out to Jaime Lee for her visit to Mrs. Schmidt's first-grade classroom for a Mindful Breathing lesson! 🫁🧠
She shared some strategies for keeping our brain and body healthy and emphasized the value of discussing our feelings with a trusted adult. Let's remember to take care of ourselves and seek support when we need it! ❤️ #ShawanoProud
Our #ShawanoProud eighth graders were recently given the opportunity to attend a Career Fair at Clintonville Middle School.
Over 60 local businesses and companies were present, sharing valuable information and career opportunities with students from various schools in the area. It was an inspiring event that opened up new possibilities and allowed students to gain insight into the world of work! 👍
Because of the number of votes that our picture received in Heid Music's Big10Plus photo contest, the SCMS orchestras were awarded $750 worth of new bows! 🎻🙌

Today, the seventh graders at SCMS took the initiative to make their school a cleaner and healthier place by using their Hawk Time to pick up all the garbage left over from the winter. 👍
It was their opportunity to give back to their school and Earth. Way to go seventh graders celebrating Earth Day! 🌎 #ShawanoProud
