The Shawano-Bonduel girls swim team capped off their season in Ashwaubenon with the sectional swim meet! 💦
The team celebrated an impressive 7 out of 11 swims as PRs, with a standout 8th place finish by Tela Hofensperger in the 200 IM. 🏅 Way to fly fast, Hawks! 🦅🏊♀️ Congrats to all! 🎉

Local FFA Members Awarded National American FFA Degree 💛💙
Each year, the National FFA Organization honors FFA members who show the utmost dedication to the organization through their desire to develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. The American FFA Degree is bestowed upon a select group of students in recognition of their years of academic and professional excellence. Less than one percent of FFA members achieve this highest honor that a member can receive.
⭐👏Mattilyn Koehler and Nicole te Plate of the Shawano FFA were awarded the American FFA Degree at the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo on October 26, 2024.
Sponsored by Cargill, Case IH, John Deere, and Syngenta, the award recognizes demonstrated ability and outstanding achievements in agricultural business, production, processing, or service programs.
To be eligible, FFA members must have earned at least $10,000 or earned at least $2,000 and worked at least 2,250 hrs. outside of class time through a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) program in which they own their own business,
hold a professional position as an employee, or conduct research. Recipients must also complete 50 hours of community service and demonstrate outstanding leadership abilities and civic involvement through the completion of a long list of FFA
and community activities.

The 3rd annual Trunk or Treat at Olga Brener was a huge success again this year!
Over 600 😲 people participated in this event on October 29th.

Mrs. Pyatskowit's 12th grade Literature Explorations class welcomed Sgt. Lucas Downs from the Menominee Tribal Police and his K9 partner, Roscoe. This visit was especially meaningful as the students had just read about first responders.
Sgt. Downs shared his experiences on the police force, the process of training Roscoe, and his career path from graduating from Shawano High to his current job.
🐾Roscoe stole the show by playing fetch and tug-of-war with us and also showed us his commands and process for search and alert. Thanks to Sgt. Downs and Roscoe to for the enjoyable and interactive presentation! ✨

With 4 personal bests and Bonduel senior Lila Melchior smashing her breaststroke time, they soared to victory!

The Shawano Community Middle School started their PD off with a potluck breakfast and group discussion!
The groups were put together randomly with all building staff, including teachers, IT Staff, maintenance, paraprofessionals, support staff, our SRO, student services, and admin. Groups collaborated and discussed scenarios for situational classroom guidelines between GE Teachers, SPED Teachers, and Paras.
After breakfast everyone moved to the library for a short listening session and some BRISK training before branching out to work and do some grounding activities.
What a great way to spend the day with your team!! It was a great day to be a HAWK! ❤️🖤 #ShawanoProud




Mrs. Edwards made a visit to Mrs. Ferch's Kindergarten class for an awesome math activity! ✖️➕➖➗ Students got to sort, count, and label all kinds of cool objects. Then, they lined up from smallest to largest based on how many objects were in their bags. It was so much fun! #ShawanoProud




At the October Board Meeting, students from LEADS 2nd grade class inspired the LEADS Governance Board by sharing their plans to make the world a better place! 🌎❤️ #ShawanoProud

Taher's very own Chef John Sugimura made a special appearance at Let's Make a Meal classes! 👨🍳👩🍳🧑🍳
He shared fascinating insights into Japanese culture, cooking techniques, and history. The students learned all about the art of Japanese cooking and the guiding principles of Harmony, Respect, Purity, and Tranquility.
Students even teamed up with Chef John to create a beautifully plated and delicious Gyoza ChoaChoa Kyoto! Plus, Chef John gave everyone a crash course on mastering the art of using chopsticks.
