Introduction
The Shawano Community School District proposed a facility referendum in April 2024 that was not approved by a very slim margin. The facility needs of the district have not gone away.
Therefore, to help the Board of Education and administration better understand what revisions might cause greater approval, they have taken the following actions:
Hosted listening sessions - resulting themes
Returned to Hoffman Construction for revisions
Held Board/administrative workshops to discuss revisions (May/June/July)
Currently, we are presenting revised plans to focus groups for input (Focus Group Presentation)
On July 18, a community-wide meeting is planned to gather input before the revised proposal is placed on the November 5 ballot.
What: Community Listening Session
Why: To preview and collect input on proposed revisions to the facility plan
When: July 18, 5 pm
Where: Shawano Community Middle School commons/cafeteria
It is anticipated that a referendum question to support a revised facility plan will be placed on the November 5, 2024, general election ballot by the Board of Education.
